About me
Hello, welcome to my webpage!
I’m Sevde, a political economist specializing in international trade, industrial policy, and geoeconomics. My journey has taken me across the globe—from Turkey to South Korea, to the United States—where I’ve worked in diverse, multicultural environments, bridging academia and international organizations.
Currently, I am the Korea in Global Affairs postdoctoral fellow at the American University’s School of International Service in Washington, DC. My work explores the outcomes of economic security measures and geoeconomic fragmentation. By applying advanced empirical methods, I analyze how global companies and countries navigate and respond to emerging protectionist policies and supply chain diversification strategies.
I also serve as a consultant at the World Bank East Asia & Pacific Chief Economist Research Center where I contribute to a research project analyzing the effects of FDI relocations on innovation outcomes.
I earned my PhD in International Studies from Seoul National University and previously taught a graduate-level course on quantitative research methods at Sookmyung Women’s University as a lecturer.
I invite you to explore my work, connect with me for collaborations, or simply follow my latest professional developments.
